Autor: Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Autor: F. Scott Fitzgerald

Número de Páginas: 109

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's most memorable short stories. The protagonist, Benjamin Button, is born an old man and ages in reverse until he becomes a baby and then finally vanishes from the earth. In a short introduction to the story, Fitzgerald wrote: "This story was inspired by a remark of Mark Twain's to the effect that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end. By trying the experiment upon only one man in a perfectly normal world I have scarcely given his idea a fair trial. Several weeks after completing it, I discovered an almost identical plot in Samuel Butler's 'Note-books.' "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" was the inspiration for the major motion picture of the same name and remains one of Fitzgerald's most haunting and beautiful tales. This collection also includes three other Jazz Age tales by Fitzgerald.

O curioso caso de Benjamin Button

Autor: F. Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic short story of a man born in his 70's who ages backward as those around him age in the more normal direction. Both humorous and heartbreaking at times, The Curious Case of Benjamin was the basis for the David Fincher movie of the same name, though the movie differs in several key ways from Fitzgerald's original story. This story was inspired by a remark of Mark Twain's to the effect that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end. By trying the experiment upon only one man in a perfectly normal world I have scarcely given his idea a fair trial. Full grown with a long, smoke-coloured beard, requiring the services of a cane and fonder of cigars than warm milk, Benjamin Button is a very curious baby indeed. And, as Benjamin becomes increasingly youthful with the passing years, his family wonders why he persists in the embarrassing folly of living in reverse. In this imaginative fable of ageing and the other stories collected here including The Cut-Glass Bowl in which an ill-meant gift haunts a familys misfortunes, The Four Fists where a mans life shaped by a series of punches to his face, and the revelry, mobs and anguish of May Day F. Scott Fitzgerald displays his unmatched gift as a writer of short stories.

El curioso caso de Benjamin Button

Autor: Francis Scott Fitzgerald

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who ages in reverse: He is born a feeble 70-year-old and becomes younger as the years progress. This faithful graphic-novel adaptation chronicles Benjamin Button's many adventures: He falls in love with a woman who ages normally (this causes complications), starts a family, and establishes a successful business. In his later years, he attends Harvard as a student and plays on their football team. By the time he is an old man, Benjamin Button resembles a newborn baby. And then he remembered nothing.Through the noons and nights he breathed and over him there were soft mumblings and murmurings that he scarcely heard, and faintly differentiated smells, and light and darkness. The Hollywood adaptation of the story-starring Brad Pitt (as Benjamin Button), Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swenton, and Julia Ormond, and directed by David Fincher (who also directed Pitt in "Fight Club" and "Seven")

Hermosos y malditos

Autor: Francis Scott Fitzgerald

Autor: Sean Carroll
